JOHN B. SAYS, "NO AMOUNT OF PETER PAN FAIRY GLITTER FROM THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND EAST AND WEST COAST LEFTISTS CAN SAVE WENDY FROM AN IGNOMINIOUS DEFEAT!"
Prominently mentioned in the news this morning is that Democratic gubernatorial candidate Senator Wendy Davis of Ft. Worth will be visiting south Texas this week. Ms. Davis, we are told, will be on hand to help with cutting the grand opening ribbon at the local Brownsville headquarters for Texas Democratic Women.
NO FAIRY GLITTER TO THE RESCUE FOR THE TEXAS WENDY! |
Senator Davis will likely discover that south Texas is somewhat of an anomaly when it comes to Roman Catholicism, which claims the majority of individuals in the region professing to be Christians. Although the Church is officially opposed to abortion, it is likely that a majority of priests in the area allow liberation theology to trump opposition to the clinical termination of pregnancies. Thus, many good shepherds of south Texas flocks would be disposed to favor a candidate who favors the continuing growth of government largesse, despite that candidate's extreme pro-choice position of permitting abortions after 5 months of pregnancy.
Davis's ascendancy to the heights of political stardom came, of course, from her well-publicized filibuster against new state guidelines regulating abortion clinics, which fanned the outrage of feminists, pro-choicers, and supporters of Planned Parenthood. In Brownsville, it even resulted in the peculiar spectacle of female illegal immigrants openly complaining that the legislation would cut off their access to abortion clinics.
South Texas politicians, cutting their political teeth in a swamp of government dependency, have a well-deserved state-wide reputation for corruption and graft. Perhaps it is providential that, last year, Texas Democrats chose as their state party leader, a former Cameron County Democratic chairman, who was known for not exactly following all provisions of the Texas Election Code. One wonders what sort of bond that Senator Davis will forge with this gentleman.
It is certainly no secret that Wendy Davis is part of the strategy of the big guns of the Democratic hierarchy, who are hitching their political wagons to the demographic express called Battle Ground Texas. Viewing Texas as fundamental to their desire to deliver a death blow to the Republican Party, the battle-grounders are prepared to pour millions of dollars into their effort to reverse dismally low Hispanic voter turnouts and to piggy-back on demographic trends that suggest that the Latin population will achieve majority status in a decade. With California and New York now solidly behind the party of the big donkey, Barack Hussein Obama and his fellow-travelers see a permanent minority status for Republicans if the 50 plus Texas electoral votes may be transferred to the Democratic column.0% of voters who turn out for elections.
Currently, Anglos, though counting for only 48% of the Texas population, normally represent 60 percent of voters turning out for elections, while only half of the 4 million registered Hispanics bother to show up at the polls. Consequently, the Democratic strategy will hang its hat on transforming voting patterns, and pulling out all the stops in making Hispanics not only regular voters but Democratic voters as well.
Not since Ann Richards has any Texas Democratic figure caused such a stir as Wendy Davis. Articulate, attractive and possessing a Harvard law degree, Senator Davis is seen as the great Democratic hope to reverse the 20-year Republican monopoly on state-wide office. And, indeed, Wendy Davis has proved that she is a politician of no little stamina. But, given the current political complexion of Texas, she may unwittingly be playing the role of stalking horse for the ambitious Castro twins of San Antonio, who are looking to play their cards of racial-identity politics 4 more years down the road.
The "Wendyites" may be overlooking other factors that must certainly will stymie Battle Ground Texas. Replacing Rick Perry as the Republican standard bearer in the governor's race will probably be Attorney General Greg Abbott; who, having overcome physical adversity with gutsy determination, displays a fiery passion for causes such as small government, self responsibility, and freedom from excessive government regulation, which have resonated strongly with traditional Texas values. On the other hand, when Senator Davis receives her party's nomination for the state's highest office, her record will emphasize all the more to Texans that that her allegiance is to the abortion-on-demand party, a party which also favors open-immigration and unremitting handouts. The wager from Two for Texas is that Texas values will swamp a politics of gimmes and freebies.
Texans have long memories, and the recollection of the tatooed, unhygenic and unkempt masses descending on their capitol to cheer on a senator who favored a barbaric six-month limit on abortions will not set well with the electorate. We, at Two for Texas, cannot over-stress that Austin is weird, but Texas is not.
Texas Democrats might also want to ask themselves why Thousands of Californians are abandoning the formerly Golden State for Texas. As somebody once said, "It's the economy, stupid!" Throughout our long-running recession, Texas has been a shining economic beacon to the rest of the nation. It would be utter folly for Texans to give up their ace in the hole for a "...mess of Democrat pottage." Just look to the Rust Belt, the Northeast and California. Democratic policies of tax, tax, tax and spend, spend, spend have run formerly robust economies into the ground. Texans, overwhelmingly, will not choose to "Detroit" the Lone Star State!
And so, Darlin Wendy, the deck is stacked for the immediate future against you and your party. And neither that glittering fairy dust from your exalted filibuster nor any amount of aid from the battle-grounders and non-Texan leftists will serve to divert our state from its solid course of prosperity and moral responsibility.
DEO VINDICE!
GOD BLESS TEXAS, AND MAY THE LONE STAR STATE REMAIN FOREVER RED!
THESE KINDS OF PROTESTERS, WHO WERE BEHIND WENDY AT THE CAPITOL, WILL DO HER NO GOOD IN A STATE-WIDE RACE! |
